When you create a new account, you will initially set up 2FA using SMS. Once your account is created, you will have the option to further secure it by adding an Authenticator App. This article will guide you through both processes.

2FA adds an extra layer of protection by requiring a second form of verification in addition to your password. Here, we will guide you through the steps to set up 2FA using the two available methods: SMS and an Authenticator App.

Setting Up 2FA via SMS

Setting up 2FA using SMS is straightforward and involves receiving a verification code via text message.

  1. Enter your country code plus phone number. We will send you a code for account protection.

  2. Once you receive the 6 digit-number via SMS, add the code in the app to verify your phone number.

Setting Up 2FA via an Authenticator App

You have the option to add an extra layer of security using an authenticator app for 2FA. It generates time-based one-time passwords (TOTPs) that refresh every 30 seconds.

  1. Install an Authenticator App from your phone's app store, for example Google Authenticator.

  2. Tap the 'Add' icon or 'Begin Setup' button.

  3. Select 'Enter Setup Key' and input the secret key generated by Prop.

  4. If another device for scanning is available, you can select 'Scan Barcode' and scan a QR code generated by Prop.

  • What is 2FA and why do I need it?

If you don’t receive the SMS code:
